Build Blog Day 44 (3/7/20)
Assembly
Bumpers
We finished the blue competition bumpers, and finished heat pressing the vinyl onto the red competition fabric, and got started working on attaching the fabric to the bumper frame. The red bumpers should be finished by the end of Sunday’s build.
WOF Assembly
We finished assembling the competition WOF and wired it to the robot. It was able to successfully spin the wheel of fortune.
Programming
Autonomous
We continued tuning our autonomous modes to make them more reliable.
Climber State Machine
We finished the climbing state machine. While there are some mechanical issues currently, climbing works well, despite not being fully automated. However, we don’t think that we want to automate it currently.
WOF Code
We tested our WOF code for CVR, which will be mostly open loop and require a lot of driver control, rather than being automated. However, we don’t expect it to be used that often, at least at our first regional.
Competition Prep
Pit Prep
We completed kitting most of the electronics and started on some of the wires.. Some parts that we are missing have been ordered. The heat shrink, crimps and housings should be finished by the end of Monday.
