Build Blog Day 42 (3/4/20)


Assembly:

Bumper Assembly

We prepped all of the bumper pieces for the remaining 3 bumpers, minus two pieces of steel for the thumbscrew reinforcements that still need to be cut. We also assembled most of one bumper frame. We will shoot to finish one comp bumper by the end of Friday’s build, and the remaining two bumpers by the end of Saturday’s build.


Programming:

Auto

We built several autonomous trajectories and actions. At the end, we finished two auto modes, and began working on one more.


Limelight

We discovered that the Limelight MAC addresses the RoboRIO displays are different each time. This happens with some devices to protect privacy, so that may be what is happening in this case. Instead, we are determining which Limelight Constants to use by the RoboRIO MAC address. We’ve gotten that working on Skystalker, but haven’t had a chance to test on any 2020 robots yet.


Manufacturing:

Router:

Finished cutting bumper wood


Lathe

Made a shaft for the WOF and made some spares for the shooter


Field Construction

Mounted the red WOF and started on the blue one. Cut out the goal which just has to be mounted today.


Competition Prep:

Pit Prep

We put up the pit display monitors to check for any issues (no glaring issues found) and continued inventorying, keeping an ordering list for anything we lack. Most inventory lists have been printed out, with the exception of the left cart.. Inventorying, along with further pit prep, is to be continued within the following days as we approach competition.
