Build Blog Day 40 (3/2/20)
Assembly:
Practice Bot
We worked on getting the robot ready so programmers could test the robot. We weighed the robot, plumbed the rest of the pneumatics necessary, and managed to get the climber to stow properly.
Comp Bot
We assembled the feeder, however, tapped the the parts to 10-32 instead of 8-32, so we will either have to tap the rest of the plates to 10-32 or reassemble the feeder sometime in the future with the proper 8-32 parts.
WOF Assembly
Today we built the revised version of the WOF mechanism. However, the main drive shaft was not manufactured correctly and needs to be redone next build.
Manufacturing:
Prepping for Weld
We finished jigging the tubes which were later dropped of to Paul who will take them to get welded in the morning
Field Construction
We replaced the tape on the far side of the field and began placing the balls under the trench for autos. The goal chute also started to be cut and the hard stops are going through their final iteration design-wise
Programming:
Auto Driving
We had a bunch of issues with the drive base (namely we had issues with two Falcons, both in the same place), which eventually got resolved. After that, we added stat or current limits to the drive and characterized it using the WPILib, and got data that’s still not perfect, but better than what we’ve been getting previously.
Climber Code
We wrote some makeshift code to test climbing and ensure that all the mechanisms worked.
